REC has now released version 2.8.1 firmware update for the REC Active BMS. This model does not sync to its serial number and can be installed on any recent model Active BMS. There are two versions of the Active BMS firmware.
Version 1

file name: bms_1A_Victron_v2_81.bin
This is the standard version for use with both single and dual OV/UV operation
– On overvoltage, OV relay trips
– On undervoltage, UV and OV trip
– Support for WS500
– Support for Victron Cerbo/Venus
Version 2
===========
file name: bms_1A_Victron_v2_81_UVLO_only.bin
This is the optional version for use with dual OV/UV relays, usually where there is both a “charge” and a separate “load” bus(REC advises that you use this version at your own risk)
– On overvoltage, OV relay trips
– On undervoltage, UV relay trips
– Support for WS500
– Support for Victron Cerbo/Venus
